Electrolysis Hair Removal

For over 130 years, Electrolysis has been medically and scientifically proven to be effective. Electrolysis is performed by conducting an electrical current with a fine probe that is placed into a hair follicle. The current will then destroy the follicle that the hair is growing from, ensuring another hair can never grow out of that follicle again. Electrolysis works on any hair color, skin color and on ingrown hairs.

Laser Hair Removal

Regina is a certified laser clinician. Since 1995, we have a wonderful permanent hair removal tool. Laser has also proven to be an additional effective and permanent method of hair removal. The laser is perfect for dense areas of hair growth.

Unlike Electrolysis, My Nd:yag laser only works on dark hairs. The laser will not work on light, blond, or white hairs as these hairs do not have the ability to absorb the light from the laser. However, our clinic has a laser that will work on all skin colors—most lasers do not have this ability. The Nd:yag laser is excellent for hair removal on dark skin and dark hairs.

We now have a new laser in addition to my Nd:yag laser, this SHR (Super Hair Removal) is the latest innovation in laser technology. Think laser hair removal but faster, and best of all, nearly painless. And, it treats all hair colors— black, blond, red, white!

My SHR laser is much like traditional treatmens, but instead of delivering individual high intensity shots to the treatment area, SHR scans the treatment zone— gradually heating the skin with fast, repetitive, low fluent pulses, resulting in stunted hair growth or complete elimination of the hair folicle.

The benefits of this new technology is plentiful. This process takes much less time than the older, traditional laser. Treatments are totally comfortable (virtually pain free) and non-irritating, ideal for sensitive skin.

SHR laser— Painless! Fast! and all hair colors!!! Just for you!

I still recomend my Nd:yag for very dark skin, which only works on dark skin.

Electrolysis Hair Removal Advancements

Electrolysis is one of the most efficient ways to permanently remove any unwanted hair on the body. The electrolysis technique has been used for over 150 years. The machine technology for electrolysis has improved throughout the years and is effective for all hair colors and skin types, even on ingrown hairs anywhere on the body.

Electrolysis was the first efficient method of removing unwanted hair on the body permanently. In 1875, Dr. Charles Michel, an ophthalmologist, discovered this method when he was trying to find a way to remove a painful ingrown eyelashes for one of his patients. He attached a battery to a fine thin wire which was inserted into the ingrown hair follicle, releasing an electrical current and permanently destroying the growth cycle of that particular hair follicle. Electrolysis was then accepted throughout the medical community and recognized as a safe and effective form of permanent hair removal.

The Electrolysis method has evolved with updated technology. An Electrolysis treatment involves the insertion of a sterile probe into the hair follicle from the opening and down to the dermal papilla. The dermal papilla is the part of the hair follicle that contains the blood supply that feeds the hair follicle for hair growth. Once the dermal papilla is hit with this electrical current during its growth cycle, it destroys it as well as the regenerative cells around it. This will result in a successful electrolysis treatment on that particular hair follicle and permanently stop any hair growth in that follicle, permanently.
